Pinjar Off Road Car park
The Department of Environment and Conservation awarded Allday Construction the tender for the Pinjar Off-Road Vehicle Area,Western Car Park. This project consisted of construction and landscaping 14,500m2 of limestone tracks including a looped road, carparks and feeder roads through untouched bush.
Utmost attention was paid to preserving trees and trans-locating grass trees to ensure minimal damage to existing vegitation and an overall natural look to the finished product.
The project was completed a month within schedule with no recorded LTIs. Due to the high standard this project is being submitted for the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Award. View DEC recommendation letter
Scope of works included:
Survey in looped road, car parks and feeder paths as set out in the development plan
Translocating and storing of grass trees
Felling and cutting to size pine trees to be used as car park barriers
Sub base preparation, boxing out and clearing of existing vegetation for limestone surfaces
Purchase and delivery of 75mm crushed limestone to site to be used for car park construction
Spreading, grading and rolling of limestone surface to construct looped road and car park/trailer bays to a thickness of 250mm as surveyed
Provision for surface water runoff and drainage where needed
Loading and haulage of pine logs and limestone boulders for car park boundary delineations specified by DEC
Set out and installation of 66 concrete wheel stops
All cut material used onsite appropriately
Site maintained to workplace health and regulation guidelines including management of public access to the site
No contamination to surrounding vegetation or bush areas at all times
